╭─•◈ The World of Alfyr ◈•─╮

A grim-dark historically-inspired fantasy world I've been working on for years.

Asset

A French-inspired kingdom under Elduria's rule, but with much of their independence intact.

Chivalry above all else. It is the Knights purpose to protect the weak and lower classes.

• Devotion to the Gods and their Heralds drive the people forward. Without them, there would be no light.

• Artisans who treat every piece they work on like it could be their last - Be that from the most humble of vintners to a master smithy.

Asset

A German-inspired Empire consisting of several 'kingdoms' ruled by an emperor.

Loyalty to the Empire and to its Emperor stand above all else - No matter how far flung the Empire may be

Dragons are the symbol and meaning of power within the Empire, especially those who have the strength to ride them.

• Reverence to the Gods and their Saints, for there is no part of life that they are without, and the Gods and their Saints within.

Asset

Roman-inspired coastal culture resembling Greek and Roman themes with architecture and culture. An Oligarchic Empire.

• Separation between the Gods and the State is important to the Archesian Empire - While the Gods are important, they should not always decide what goes on in every man's life.

• Bureaucracy is allows the State to maintain what it has, and control the flow of money to where it needs to be. While may bloat, there is no safer place to be.

• Tradition in the arts, and in magic, keeps the Empire as strong as it may have once been eons ago.

A set Kingdoms inspired by the Celtic people all the from Scotland to Brittany.

• Pillar of Knowledge in the world, they boast the largest and greatest collection of knowledge far and wide.

• Music is the foundation of life, and Bards are their keepers. Without them, much of the world would have forgotten vast swathes of the past.

• Peaceful, for the most part. Unlike their neighbors they do not often go to war. Their 'war' is more akin to stealing the opposing Clan's cattle.

Jarldoms inspired by the Anglo-Saxon and Nordic peoples. Warriors and Seafarers all.

• Brutal and harsh are their lands, and so too does it make their people.

• Pagan are their beliefs. Worshipping the Gods of Old where make sacrifice and devotions to for their blessings and powers.

• Seafarers and traders are what makes them known. Their islands are treacherous, and only the most skilled of seamen can traverse them. And when trades go bad, an axe is most useful.
